A Cautionary Tale of Mismanagement and Disrespect for Talent - Regional Account Manager GoTu Employee Review

Pros

• Free snacks in the office — a small perk, but appreciated. • Free parking during company-hosted events in downtown areas. • You’ll meet some great, driven colleagues — many of whom can help you network and eventually find a better opportunity elsewhere.

Cons

Gotu is a textbook example of how poor leadership and a lack of organizational structure can drive out talented, tenured employees. The company has completely failed to prioritize its people — instead, it’s built a culture where dedication and hard work are consistently undervalued and unrewarded. The commission structure is an absolute mess, implemented in such a haphazard, “fly by night” way that it borders on disrespectful. Employees who are doing more in 2025 — with greater responsibilities and higher performance — are making significantly less than they did in 2024. Let that sink in: more effort, less pay. There is no transparency, no fairness, and certainly no urgency from leadership to fix what’s broken. The people at the top seem content to watch great employees walk out the door without addressing the root issues. If you’re hoping to work somewhere that values your time, rewards your results, and invests in a stable, supportive structure — look elsewhere. Gotu has become a cautionary tale of what happens when a company ignores its people.

Pros

Strong leadership that invests in growth and development, clear career progression, and a culture that values collaboration and accountability. I feel supported, challenged, and recognized for the work I put in. The pace is fast but rewarding, and the team is full of passionate people who want to win together.

Cons

Like any high growth company, priorities shift quickly, which can feel overwhelming at times. That said, it comes with the territory of being in a dynamic environment, and leadership does a good job of communicating through the changes.

Cons

- 1099, no w2 - can't see office reviews - unsecured pay/hours, you hope you get the hours agreed on - leaves me waiting endlessly for confirmation/rejection of shift, no time limit/structure
