Pros

Category and technology leader provides certain clout in the space. Culture is good for entrepreneur types and thus allows for good flexibility and autonomy. Compensation is competitive.

Cons

The organizational structure (or lack thereof) can be both confusing and counterproductive. Long-term direction isn't well communicated or understood (maybe nobody really knows?) Some organizations have redundant goals and objectives that seem like "empire-building." Can be a very political place to work--seen lots of back-stabbing and finger pointing to get ahead. Senior Management (VP & above) have very little turnover, so little influx of new ideas. Fairly limited upward mobility for individual contributors. Many people stay at the same level for years and leave for a title promotion. Much of the above could be due to the uncertaintuy of the ALU integration plan. Alcatel is going to take this thing over in a big way, if it hasn't already. It will not be the same moving forward (may be a pro to some?).

Pros

PTO is very generous. Great work life balance. Excellent pay.

Cons

Support gets very little say in anything and continues to get more work. Takes at least a year of drowning before you really know what you are doing with confidence.
