Pros
- Great training. They really invest in their people upfront - Interesting and sometimes valuable product that gets you in front of C-Level - Really great name to have on resume - Amazing incentives (Winners Circle, Q1 Bonus, Regional contests) - You will learn a lot!
Cons
- Pay and benefits is not competitive - Value for price is a challenge as prices increase significantly. Team solutions for HT products make it very hard to sell in regional sales models - The micromanaging is the absolute worst I have ever experienced. Be ready for phone calls, texts, and emails at all hours of the day, weekends, vacations, etc. And you are expected to answer! - What culture? - Poor management. And when you tell Senior Management, they don't seem to care. When you talk to HR about it, they tell the management what was said which puts a target on your back - When you tell HR issues, it is not confidential (they say it is, but my & teams experienced otherwise) - Very hostile environment and toxic culture - We should not be competing with each other for business - Shady other teams who will intentionally make you lose business while they gain it. WIll talk to your clients behind your back to make their portion of the contracts bigger while you lose $$ - A aggressive sales style is not how you win business. We can follow up and do our job but the expectation to harass our clients/prospects incessantly is ridiculous and not productive - Gartner doesn't practice what it preaches - You really need a CRM, especially with this regional model and SO many sales reps calling into the same account - Not realistic to close a big deal every month (given the pricing and strategic sales model) so management needs to give people time to do it instead of having a gun pointed to their head and putting them on a plan so quickly - Senior level management won't get involved in deals (unless it is in the millions) - Micromanaging is disguised as coaching. They are not the same! Maybe if the managers didn't spend their days on so many admin tasks, they could get in the field and actually coach! - Be prepared for 20% sales, 80% admin work. Too many internal meetings and admin work
