Cons
The company started out struggling in the US market. After failure of their first few titles, they acquired Funzio, which helped them to keep their head above water. But when the key members of Funzio team responsible for the successful titles departed, GREE started struggling once again.
The people left to manage had no idea what they were doing. Simply put, two games that were both in production for over 2 years were both cancelled abruptly. There may be many different reasons as to why, but the simple answer (often the most honest answer) is that some of the leaders simply lacked vision and the games weren't very fun to play.
In addition, the office politics were insane. Eventually there came a period of exodus. GREE couldn't keep up with the pace at which people were leaving.
Hiring of the new COO didn't help the matter much. Since he's started, we've had: 1. Total studio wide reorganization 2. Exodus of VP's 3. One canceled game, which was in production for 2 years 4. Shifting the entire game design to aim at the whales (industry term for heavy spenders) 5. three seat changes 6. TWO big layoffs
It's definitely no longer a place I once highly regarded to be a great work environment.
