Pros

Learn a lot about the business and industry in a short space of time. Meet a lot of nice people. Working with factories internationally. Quite an interesting job.

Cons

Given one week of training by people who had been working there less than a year. Some management expects you to know everything basically within a month, impossible given the training, and then can get annoyed when you don't know how to do something. Some management make questionable decisions and don't listen to advice - think they're above other employees so don't have to listen to them. Poor communication between departments. Systems are useless outside Frasers, very outdated. Don't replace people when other people leave - entire quality control department has left with no replacement. Very slow progression from speaking with others.

Pros

Good staff discount, supportive peers

Cons

Zero hour contract meant that there was never consistent hours, I would go from 40 hours one week to only one 5 hour shift the next. Hours were allocated according to who was the manager's favourites, who openly admitted to doing this. Favouritism was a huge issue, there being a double standard within the store where some people would be told off for things that others weren't. Bullying and intimidating behaviour by managers. Extremely difficult to get any time off even if advance notice was given. Found it very difficult to work around my university timetable despite being on zero hours. I found that I was consistently overworked and given more hours than I could commit to and was not listened to by managers when I asked to work less. There was many members of staff consistently left with no hours simply because management didn't like them. Desipte staff being left with no work, we were always short staffed anyway and expected to manage even on busy days with very few bodies meaning you usually wouldn't be able to get a break until very late in your shift. Managers were very gossipy and would speak about you to other members of staff and share private information. Very little recognition even when you go above and beyond, but when something went wrong they were always looking to blame people. Managers were very little help during busy periods, would stay either in office or in the back.
