Pros
- Great team and strong culture (despite being a disperse team). - Communicative and transparent leadership. The exec team always makes sure that we are sharing information, and that if there is any conflict, that it is dealt with immediately. - Strong vision and mission that they work hard to make sure each and every team member is a part of, or has some sort of involvement in. - I also appreciate the leaders work hard to hire well, which leads to them giving ownership, allowing employees to step up. Lots of great opportunities for growth and career advancement, in a new exciting space. - A growth mindset that flows through every part of the organization; we all work together to understand and to grow. There are no fixed ideas, just opportunities to learn and to test. This is the most exciting part of working at Fraction - collaboration and great psychological safety. - Lack of egoism from the top. I've been at many startups and the founders of Fraction are transparent and work hard to make sure everyone in the team has a voice. They also are open to ideas and believe in autonomy. - The compensation, benefits, and perks are top notch. The people are absolutely fantastic and always willing to help. There is a great amount of encouragement for personal development and active participation from the exec team in growing the skillsets of their employees. - Great work/life balance (not just saying that!). Team is respectful of working hours (despite being across many timezones) and I never get pinged after hours or on weekends. It's so refreshing!
Cons
Lots of growth in a short time, but the small size of the company at this point allows us to be flexible and move fast. I think now is the time to be scrappy, but as we grow more, we will need to build better structures and processes to manage everything. No people/HR person on the team, and I think as we grow we will need that.
