Pros

Phenomenal locations in amazing cities and vacation destinations around the world. Surrounded by like-minded coworkers who work at Four Seasons as a means of paying the bills while enjoying their beautiful surroundings.

Cons

Very "corporate". A myriad of rules and chains of command to be mindful of. The rules are very easy to abide by and are clearly expressed...however those who slip up risk swift termination. The hierarchy leaves line employees with very little leeway in managing difficult situations (i.e. emergencies, problems with guests). Line employees are given no real authority to exercise but instead are told to keep following the chain of command and are not allowed to be involved in difficult situations (and thus prevented from experiencing important learning opportunities).

Pros

The banquets department is run incredibly well. Our director is extremely knowledgable and approachable. The back of the house (and overall hotel) is super clean, which makes doing your job smoother. Even as an on-call employee, your input on daily operations is valued, and feedback is genuinely appreciated. The GM even takes time out of his schedule to meet with us, which speaks to their commitment to continuous improvement. There’s definitely a hierarchy, but at the very least, leadership is not pretentious. Overall, Four Seasons cares about its employees and treats us with the same level of respect as guests. I definitely recommend working in this department.

Cons

Four Seasons is not as busy as other hotels in the city so you won't have many shifts.

Cons

Underpaid, working for 3 properties. Definitely no work life balance. Tenured employees are not valued, they would hire NEW employees for remote only. Unable to be remote if you have been there for awhile, always get denied even if you have shown yourself with metrics and training new people. Leadership only cares about operations they only want good things to be heard, no negative things are said, no improvement. Everyone there always say something on what to improve on but nothing has happened. They always say that our department has made MILLIONS for bookings but our pay is low even with commissions with crazy schedules. Also, same salary with new hires. Alot of former employees in this reservations department leaves all the time. They would place you in different schedules even force you work overnight. Also they only release schedules a week before or 3 days before. Because they said “if there are no call outs, then we can release the schedule 2 weeks or a month before” All I can say is save yourself
