Pros
The chance to build a company to reinvent an antiquated industry to make global trade easier is a noble mission and fun to be apart of.
Cons
Was an early joiner and after 9.5 years of excellent reviews and being promoted every two years, was suddenly laid off claiming my role has been eliminated. However the truth is they are simply making my previous direct reports do my job instead because they are cheaper. Flexport is a sinking ship due to being mismanaged by a chaotic CEO who can't focus on one thing for more than a week. Everyone that reports to him hates their job but are too afraid to challenge him. Leadership says they value tenure and the company is doing well but it is all a lie to prevent a mass exodus of talent. The only thing they value is the bottom line and anyone with a high salary will quickly be eliminated if they can find someone cheaper to do the work. Leaders there will not think twice about draining you for all your worth then stabbing you in the back. Not a great place to build a long term career.
