Pros

You're given lots of responsibility and are genuinely important because of it; you are never ever bored. If you are you're doing it wrong. You are exposed to a large section of the wealth management industry and its biggest names. The people who work there are lovely, intelligent and generally pretty hard working. The work itself is inherently interesting and challenging. Its a company that is growing rapidly (even though its the dominant player in its market) and if that growth continues there will be lots of opportunity within the company. And if you play your cards right you can earn very good money and bonuses.

Cons

It's very high pressure - especially within the software delivery/client engagement side of the business - to the point you will regularly work 50/55/60 hr weeks just to try to keep up. The long hours and high pressure on there own are tough, but the thing that really wears you down is that from the point of view of most of the "people on the ground", FNZ massively over promise and underdeliver to their clients. So it feels like you are not achieving very much. Another frustration is that there are people who get into fairly senior, influential and well paid positions who have got there because they have little by way of integrity. Please note this is not all the successful people in FNZ; but a frustratingly high % of them. And finally there is very little training which is daunting at first, and frustrating with a couple of years of hindsight as you realise there is a lot that could be gained from implementing better training. Ultimately, FNZ is what you make it - but I think there are certain systematic issues which certainly make life there frustrating, rather than rewarding.

A big thank you for your review below. It’s very comprehensive and considered feedback and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. First of all, it’s of course great to hear the areas of the business and your role that you value. It’s particularly pleasing to hear that you find the work interesting, that you recognise the vast amount of opportunity that is available through a career with FNZ and that you enjoy working with the people and our clients. We’re such a fast growing company that it’s inevitable that opportunities to grow and develop your career and skill sets are presented, and we try and encourage and support colleagues wherever we can to make the most of these. Similarly, you call out some areas of challenge and potential improvement which we really welcome. You’re right, at times it can be a demanding environment and hard work is expected. However we do hope that we create a workplace where reward, recognition, opportunity and development balance this out and that we create a positive environment for our colleagues to flourish. We understand that we might not always get this right first timer, but please be assured we will continue to make improvements. Thank you again for your feedback as always, we’d welcome the opportunity to discuss any of this with you.

Pros

FNZ has been an incredible company to work for and is being run by the best leadership team you could ask for. We’re experiencing a significant amount of growth and our executive staff is driving the organization to new heights. Over the last couple of years, the entire operating model has been optimized aligning all teams to the vision which has enabled collaboration and makes it enjoyable to go to work.

Cons

We need high performing employees that want to constantly push the needle forward. There’s still many employees that are skating on by…however, the new management team has done a great job filtering out the detractors.

Pros

Fast-paced environment High visibility Supportive peers

Cons

My experience within the CEO Office at FNZ was, unfortunately, the most toxic professional environment I have encountered in my career. While the role offered visibility and proximity to senior leadership, the culture at the top was defined by fear, intimidation, and a profound lack of respect for support staff. Long hours were expected (including nights and weekends), but basic professionalism, appreciation, and empathy were often absent. Communication frequently involved raised voices, public criticism, and reactions disproportionate to the situation. Situations outside of anyone’s control were treated as personal failures. There was little psychological safety, and many employees were reluctant to speak up due to fear of retaliation or career consequences. What was most disappointing was not the workload — it was the tone and treatment. Hard work went unacknowledged. Loyalty was not reciprocated. Requests for reasonable discussion or negotiation were taken personally and met with swift, punitive responses. Several colleagues privately expressed similar concerns, but few felt safe voicing them openly. There are talented and hardworking people at FNZ, and the firm has significant potential. However, until leadership models respect, emotional intelligence, and accountability, turnover and morale challenges will likely persist.
