Pros
Suffering in numbers, at least you aren't alone...? Managed to forge some lifelong friendships that will endure (unlike the credibility and scientific standing of Evidera) Some interesting clients/sponsors and projects to inspire your great escape even further (the grass really is greener)
Cons
- Toxic environment - Zero work-life balance - Long working hours including weekends and sometimes during paid time off (2am analysis or report writing - tick) - Complete lack of consistency with salaries and promotion process - be prepared to work harder than your peers who are earning 10-15k more than you despite being at the same level (just because they held management to ransom and demanded a pay increase; individuals would regularly mention offers from other companies despite not having applied elsewhere...) - Terrible managers lacking basic training and communication skills - Lots of people in the organisation who 'talk the talk' - Zero recognition (managers will regularly rope junior staff into non-billable project work despite junior staff having unachievable targets to then claim the work as their own in senior management meetings so they can be titled "subject matter expert") - Poor communication from management and senior leaders
