Pros

You'll quickly learn the red flags of bad leadership and gain perspective on what a healthy workplace should look like.

Cons

Looking back on my time at Embroker, it’s clear why so many people don’t stay long, the turnover speaks for itself. The leadership was completely out of their depth, and instead of guiding teams, they pushed a disrespectful attitude that left people pointing fingers at each other rather than working together. Instead of improving the product, most energy went into shifting blame and defending poor decisions, which only stalled progress further. Working there killed my motivation, because no matter how hard you tried, there was always someone higher up ready to undercut you or dismiss your effort. Leaving was the best decision I made, and only after moving on did I realize how much more effective and supportive real leadership can be. If you’re considering this place, ask yourself if you want to grow or just get caught in a toxic loop that leads nowhere.

Pros

Despite the recent poor reviews, it was a great place to work at one point. There were a lot of genuinely nice people and hardworking co-workers. People in middle management were really supportive. Even some on the executive team were supportive and probably meant well most of the time. There was always the potential for greatness and that was exciting.

Cons

Too many side quests and poor execution of ideas that were never going to work or half-baked in a way that caused more problems than it solved for clients and employees. There was a lot of internal resistance by some on the exec team to elevate the company's actual and organic strengths or retain true talent. They either weren't on the same page or there were competing agendas or egos. Very confusing and dysfunctional at the top. Throw in consistent and disruptive re-orgs and layoffs and building momentum wasn't possible.
