Pros

WFH Good benefits Some great people work here who genuinely care

Cons

Leadership across the organisation is weak and largely absent. When the current CEO joined, there was an initial sense of optimism, but that quickly faded. Within the 2nd week, his visibility completely dropped and it became clear it wasn't getting any better. There’s little communication and you rarely see or hear from the people who are supposed to be leading the business. There is little effort to engage with teams, or build trust beyond 'inner circles'. Operationally the organisation lacks structure. Processes and systems are messy and inconsistent, making it inefficient and decisions take a long time to be made. The business is continuing to decline, with clients being lost regularly. There’s a constant conveyor belt of senior leadership coming in, bringing their own people, ‘rebuilding’ it and then the whole thing just repeats. It’s completely cyclical. A disappointing and uninspiring company to work for. I’d strongly advise anyone considering joining to carefully think twice.

Pros

- Free snacks but you will be watched if you take anything. - Health care, dental cover. - if you commute via bike they have free indoor parking, if you drive in it’s £1k+ for a year permit.

Cons

- worked there for nearly 3 years as an IT engineer, wasted 3 years of the most important time to build my career - completed a progression plan and never got a promotion no matter if your stats are great. - i would say 50% of management will keep you in the role your in and set you up for failure as its a norm - there is a QC Team within the company that do annual reviews every month but also can’t set you up so they search dependencies in your tickets to put you on pointless PEP’s so you have no choice but to leave the company or you work till you’re burnt out. - the QC Team also change private data to catch you out if you are disliked by the company for silly reasons - I have been shouted at in private meeting rooms by management and after speaking to HR they don’t really do much but promise you alternative solutions. - you are watched like a hawk when you join by none relevant teams and management - expected to start 10 minutes before shift as a norm regardless if you get setup before your working time. - they have a informal Ekco chat in MS Teams which has a lot of internal bullying as I have experienced this my self 1/2 months in to the job - you can never feel settled in the job even after probation as you feel that you are in a rat race - the company judges your appearance if you don’t wear there uniform which is not mandatory - if you leave items on your desk that are personal to you it goes missing. - burnt out factor: as a 1st line engineer you would expect to take 10-15 tickets but the rules have changed where the ticket will be distributed to you no matter what your skills sets are and expected to fix that issue in unrealistic SLA’s - no place to take a 5 mins break if you are feeling burnt out - most client speak to you disrespectfully and QC Teams advised you stay brave on the phone. - they take feedback back seriously so even if your not accountable for 1 bad feed back on a closed ticket you will still get penalised. - the company after the migration had changed a lot and for the worst, in the last year I’ve seen over 45 employees leave and still are continuing to leave due to the above. - the salaries are observed, even if you have another job over they would expect you to leave as they have an internally company to hire contract workers, honestly if you look at the market in the same city (Milton Keynes) you will be offered 3/4k more as well as free parking. - annual leave: if your booking you can only book if no one else is on leave at the same time which is ridiculous as they have enough team members in all the teams for multiple people to be off, you also need to tell me 4 weeks in advance even if it’s a day of leave. - for new employees they provide low spec devices, and no change to upgrade your device you need for work. - no bonus schemes for any employee. - get only 22 days for annual leave which most companies offer a lot more - the business is struggling heavily and this is why pressure is applied at IT engineers heavily - you are limited with the permissions you have for helping clients so you would need to escalate tickets quickly or you are penalised - tickets are tracked by the QC Team (Live) so if you have done one mistake be prepared to go in to a meeting in the same day or if they don’t I would worry as they are 100% building a case on you to be setup for failure. - you are working on 40/50+ tickets so even if you go on annual leave, when you come back it’s a worrying feeling as you will be slammed with work. - if you ask for assistance from senior teams they are rude and do not want to assist at all. - poor leader ship
