Pros

- opportunity to choose what you work on - room to grow as the company is still small - coworkers are all nice reasonable people

Cons

- terrible comp when pnl is low, you will get no bonus, salary cuts, and comp restructuring when pnl is high, you will get the ceo cutting pre-agreed comp and pnl split equity contract is vague and ambiguous. realistically there will be no dividends as they will reinvest all profits. - toxic upper management you will be openly berated and screamed at for any mistakes big or small if the ceo is in a bad mood you are expected to commit 100% and sacrifice family, health, etc. for the company (or you will face threats of being fired and told your worthless)

Pros

Consistent growth in PnL over the years, and a pretty clear vision for growth in the future. Organization is fairly flat. The CEO sits in the middle of the office, in one of the trading rows. Putting resources into adaptation of AI and other new technologies with effective results. Clear focus on improving company culture over past year with more benefits going to employees.

Cons

Still have a lot of room to catch up to the bigger firms - particularly with expansion into newer markets. A lot of the company's focus has been handling the hard problems first for sustainable PnL in the future rather than putting resources into underdeveloped markets. Perhaps the PnL would be higher if we took those bets as a company. This is not particularly unique for the industry, but there has been some turnover the past 2 years.

Pros

- New hires get meaningful ownership early and are able to contribute quickly. - Very smart, low-ego team that is supportive and focused on getting better. - CEO is highly engaged and close to the business. - Strong core business with expansion into new areas, so there’s a lot of opportunity.

Cons

- Fast-paced environment with high expectations, so it’s not for everyone. - You need to be proactive and comfortable figuring things out on your own. - Less structure than at larger or more established firms.
