Pros

From the outside things look great... EddyHR (Tesani) has very nice employees. Could be a pro or con, depending on the person, but the general age of employees is very young, with the sister company, Lift Credit, being a call center that employs mostly college students and outnumbers EddyHR at least 4-1. The building is shared with them, so meals, company events, etc, are always combined. The culture focus is on "Tesani" as a whole, without individual cultures for EddyHR, Lift Credit, etc. Some of the main pros for me were: - While I was there, the development team (excluding management), got along great and worked well together - Nice hardware to work on - Very early in product lifecycle, so will spend lots of time building new features versus maintaining legacy code - Onsite lunch made fresh every day, additionally stocked fridges/pantry

Cons

However, once on the inside... This is a pretty toxic environment for developers. The main cons are: - Management has zero trust in or loyalty towards employees. They will fire employees on a whim without any heads up or severance. - They will say anything to get you hired, but it’s mostly lip service… be careful during your interview process and take things with a huge grain of salt. Keep expectations low. - If you offer a differing opinion from the partners, you will quickly be blacklisted. - Attempt to treat developers like call center employees (i.e. viewed as easily replaceable, pay towards bottom of range, no idea who is actually doing what) - Will receive many mixed signals and hard to know where you really stand at any given time - No technical leadership. Bouncing between architecture, languages, and very low level technical challenges. Part of that comes from being a start-up, but the number of consultants and expert opinions that constantly come from outside the company is crazy. Nobody internally that can answer most of these questions. Some basic examples of the above points are the following: - All bonuses removed without any adjustment to underlying pay after only a few months of being hired - Let go half the developers the day after Christmas, without any warning or severance, after they had completed every goal that was set for them - Employees are scared to be open and share opinions or any kind of critical thinking - Developers told to keep their opinions to themselves and intentionally kept away from prospective hires - Performance reviews aren't really a thing

Pros

Nice office space, flexible work schedule, good benefits and generous contribution from the employer for health.

Cons

Promises made and promises broken over and over at Eddy. 2023 was the year of several major reductions in force at Eddy. They would hire people from long term careers at great companies and then let terminate them with "heavy hearts" time and time again. My role changed from the time I was recruited and hired two weeks after I was brought on. They just kept saying it would go back to the role I was hired for and to hang in there and make it work. 9 months later, they tried to change my role and title an pay to the other role which came with a 50% decrease in pay. So I left. The CEO said he wanted to make thing right by me and then made no efforts to do so. There is a serious lack of leadership at the top of this company.
