Pros

- Ecolab pays market rate for external hires - Work life balance for some departments - Fast progression for those hired on MBA leadership program

Cons

- Major acquisitions of companies (Nalco/Champion Technologies) made more than 5 years ago, but acquired companies are still not FULLY integrated in all aspects (HR, IT, Finance..) - Legacy Ecolab, Legacy Nalco, Legacy Champion are constantly fighting AGAINST each other, instead of working TOGETHER as ONE company. Even within one business unit, the different departments are working in silo with little interactions. - Employee engagement survey conducted in recent years across all countries in the region revealed how disengaged and dissatisfied the employees are (More than half of the results showed that employees are disengaged and looking at leaving the company). Leadership is still pleased at the slight incremental % increase of satisfaction compared to previous survey. Unbelievable! Is the glass half full or half empty? - Company is investing on technology to drive efficiency and productivity but is not seeing results. It takes years just to implement a new financial system and employees are not utilizing the new software as there are inaccuracies or only delivers minimal and unnecessary information. - Many financial systems for data retrieval without proper documentations for reference and requires long time to reconcile. People usually spend most of their time cleansing and reconciling data instead of proper analysis. - Poor control of processes with no defined SLA, constant scramble to deliver. Reactive, not proactive. - Management team does not take responsibilities for their business results, quick to throw the blame to others. Entire sales team and administrative was asked to go immediately when they lost a major contract, yet the management team is still in the company holding leadership roles playing "musical chairs". - Minimal increment and bonus, varies across business units. Some business units had zero increments, forced to take no-pay leave while some business units had substantial increments/bonus despite their lower Operating Income contribution to the company. - Employee turnover is very high, there is no continuity and you will have to pick up the pieces on your own.

Pros

The actual coworkers and team members are great. Everyone is super supportive and just trying to help each other out.

Cons

Management: There’s a huge disconnect between upper leadership and the people doing the day-to-day work. Goals and priorities change constantly with very little communication, and it often feels like micromanagement takes the place of actual guidance. Work-Life Balance: The workload is completely unsustainable. You’re expected to handle an overwhelming amount of work, but you aren't given the resources or staffing to actually get it done without burning out. Expecting people to constantly work over their hours has become the norm. Lack of Growth: Career progression is pretty much non-existent. Promises of promotions or career development are thrown around, but they rarely actually happen. There’s no clear pathway to move up, so it’s easy to feel stuck and stagnant.
