Pros
First, Eastman employs what I think of as a collaborative management style. In this style, the supervisors work with the employees to set goals and see that the employee has what is needed to obtain the goals. As a result, there are no year-end surprises during the performance review where the employee is criticized for not doing something he didn't even know he was supposed to be doing. Second, people at Eastman act as team members. The other companies I have worked at had departments that were so independent that little useful work could get done. I have never detected this attitude at Eastman. People are always ready to help others with any project. Third, Eastman is a very open company. We have frequent town hall meetings with the CEO during which the CEO actually gives out good and honest answers. Other companies I have worked at, when they had town halls at all, always staged them with prepared questions.
Cons
None that I can think of.
