This company is obsessed with being “award-worthy” and building a brand around its own hype — but behind the scenes, it’s a different story. The leadership team expects employees to feel grateful just to be there, as if association with their brand is compensation enough. Spoiler: it’s not. The benefits are performative — designed to polish the company’s image rather than improve employees’ lives. It’s all about what looks good from the outside, not what actually works. Burnout is brushed aside, and when you raise concerns, you're often met with defensiveness or silence, or worse, made fun of by the executives behind your back. The biggest issue? All but one of the owners have never worked anywhere else. The only one who has worked anywhere else is retiring soon. They see their way as the only way, and any new ideas are treated as threats rather than opportunities. It creates a closed loop of self-congratulation where growth, innovation, and employee wellbeing are stifled in favor of image.
