Hiring Staff Has Nasty Attitude & Unempathetic - Substitute Teacher ESS Employee Review

Pros

Flexibility of work, guaranteed time off for holidays, other subs seems to be kind/helpful, etc

Cons

There aren't enough incentives considering the nose-diving plummet of teachers keeping their jobs (they are quitting because it's not an easy job, and can even be harder when the kids know you're a sub/temporary) - all the more reason to treat good subs well, also dealing with a subset of "my people" on the phone who just like being mean/nasty and cold for no good reason is a huge con. This isn't housewives of Atlanta or Mean Girls ma'am. Acting nasty like that then wondering why people target us...it's because we have no unity and they see it. We are nasty to each other, and they see it.

Pros

Somewhat easy application and easy hiring. Can choose days to work and assignments available everyday. Good to get experience in schools if no education degree yet or deciding.

Cons

Same day or very short notice of assignments available (depending on location). Constantly checking app for work. Minimum wage for this important job.
