The company used to be a great place to work but over time it has changed in ways that made the environment less enjoyable and increasingly stressful. I worked at the store for a while and saw many shifts in management that didn’t align with the reality of the business. New management introduced ideas and expectations as if END. operated at the level of luxury brands like Gucci or Burberry, when in truth it is a high streetwear retailer. These expectations put pressure on staff while feedback from employees was often overlooked. There is very little loyalty to employees, especially to those who have stayed through the most challenging periods. Many long-term staff members had to take on extra responsibilities to support the store, including during the months when we didn’t even have a proper store manager. Despite all the hard work and dedication, many of us were still paid minimum wage. Near the end of my time there, when several people were leaving, management attempted to keep a select few by offering them significant salary increases. At that point it felt too late and honestly quite disrespectful. It made the years of effort, commitment, and responsibility feel underappreciated — especially knowing they always had the ability to pay more but chose not to until people started walking away. Even now, from what I know, some long-term staff remain unhappy due to the unfairness and inconsistency in pay rises. Some employees received increases while others, equally deserving, did not. Overall, the lack of support, fairness and appreciation played a major role in my decision to leave.
