- lots of cross-team collaboration - opportunities to learn about different teams, do 'internships' on different teams for entry-level positions - ability to manage early in career if interested
Cons
- some nepotism - pay isn't comparable to industry despite HR saying that they test salaries against standards - sometimes need people to leave in order to be promoted and progress in linear teams
