Pros

It's usually just you and a manager working so you end up creating friendships with them. My store was very flexible with my schedule.

Cons

You hardly get any hours. Most people at my store only got 12-15 a week. Blows my mind that they only have 4 hour shifts for cashiers and will only hire 18+. The only people who can afford to live off of the hours and pay are high schoolers who still rely on parents.

Pros

I enjoyed working at Dollar Tree because it allowed me to lead a team, help develop associates, and make a difference in my store. I liked the fast-paced environment and the variety of challenges that came with running daily operations. The experience helped me grow as a manager, strengthen my problem-solving skills, and build great relationships with both my team and customers.

Cons

The biggest challenges were limited staffing, heavy workloads, and a lack of support from the district level when issues arose. PTO requests were often denied due to business needs, which made it difficult to achieve a good work-life balance. While these challenges could be frustrating at times.
