Pros

None. I regret taking this job.

Cons

The system is setup so that you fail. I was hired for an assistant manager position so I didn’t experience much of it myself before I was taken off the register, but they have these ridiculous rules that essentially get cashiers written up every week until they’re fired. The one in particular that bugs me is the line item voids rule. You cannot have line item voids in excess of 3% of your transactions. Or you get written up. I have never in my life worked in a store that believes that just because you accidentally double scanned an item and need to void it, that you are automatically stealing. I have only been there 2 months and have had to write up brand new cashiers for this. If someone calls out, then because there is such low staffing it instantly becomes your problem and you have to call every store in the area and ask if they can lend you someone. They won’t check, they’ll just tell you no. Until you call the district manager, who then snaps at you because he’d rather get paid to do nothing, and then he calls and instantly finds someone at one of the stores you’ve already called. The employees show no respect for each other or management. Management shows no respect for each other or the employees. It’s just a horrible work environment. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Tomorrow I am turning in my keys and never looking back. I wish I could undo these last two months and take back all that wasted energy.

Pros

Left to Your Own Devices: If you enjoy being entirely on your own without any meaningful guidance, resources, or support from corporate, you will get plenty of it here. Air Conditioning Works (Usually): The building generally has a roof and four walls, and the physical time clock successfully records your hours.

Cons

Leadership Transparency: A severe lack of professional transparency from upper management. Retaliatory Management Culture: There is a distinct disconnect between corporate feedback initiatives and district-level execution. Honest participation in internal leadership and company feedback surveys is not met with constructive dialogue, but rather with immediate professional retaliation and termination.
