Pros

Good Benefits that begin day one of hire if you are full time.

Cons

ASM's are only guaranteed 35 hours per week, though they did try a few time to give me less than that. Never an opportunity for OT No employee discounts Extremely demanding workload Only one paid holiday - Christmas No time and a half on other holidays Absolutely NO beneficial training or guidance other than watching videos Lots of theft that you aren't allowed to do anything about Hard to make employee purchases during a shift due to extreme rules Very low pay for the workload, especially since you will NEVER get 40 hours unless you're salary Extremely difficult to find someone to cover your shift if you need time off or are sick. Have been told that I could not leave, even when sick, until the store closed. All decisions seemed to be driven by corporate pencil pushers and investment firms that could care less about the employees. Staffing is kept at bare minimum and often isn't enough

Pros

Leadership that cares about their Associates. Opportunities to grow skills and knowledge via trainings and cross-team ventures. Employee Relation Groups that are important to a diverse workforce.

Cons

Pay is lacking for the experience gained. Annual performance review is not indicative of the work put it. Follow up on issues is not consistent. Some employees are disciplined for small infractions while others are provided zero repercussions for blatant failure to abide by the rules.

Pros

Left to Your Own Devices: If you enjoy being entirely on your own without any meaningful guidance, resources, or support from corporate, you will get plenty of it here. Air Conditioning Works (Usually): The building generally has a roof and four walls, and the physical time clock successfully records your hours.

Cons

Leadership Transparency: A severe lack of professional transparency from upper management. Retaliatory Management Culture: There is a distinct disconnect between corporate feedback initiatives and district-level execution. Honest participation in internal leadership and company feedback surveys is not met with constructive dialogue, but rather with immediate professional retaliation and termination.
