Pros

First and foremost, Diligent is essentially a portfolio company that lives in the GRC space; they acquire smaller companies to further "integrate" into their existing software offering - some very cool brands live under the umbrella. Here is what I had loved most about the company: - The people - for the most part (see below for explanation), every is really supportive and the culture was amazing; people are willing to help and truly believe in the one team, one dream mindset. - The compensation - The company recognizes people value and will absolutely pay you your worth. - The events - Diligent has an excellent brand when it comes to hosting internal events; not so great at trade shows / conferences but they know how to host a party. - The learning - Diligent offers a LOT of different solutions, some that cannibalize each other, but there is a lot to learn if you're willing to. I truly believe that if you are willing to grind, you will learn a lot about the industry. This company has AMAZING people in different roles, I cannot stress how incredible some of the people are and how they can come together to handle the stresses and recent downturns in the different business units.

Cons

Diligent, like all other companies, has its fair shares of bad apples. If you are applying, in interviews or have recently accepted an offer then I would advise you to reach out to people who have left the company or been packaged out; they will give you an honest review of the leadership and the products. Attrition at Diligent is fairly high, people whom have been at the stronger brands will stay until the very end but some of the more recent acquisitions have seen a significant exit rate from talented professionals. Politics and bureaucracy - Diligent like all high-paying companies, has a fair share of politics that often take precedent over actually doing their jobs. Culture - depending which team you are joining, interested in joining or have accepted an offer, do not be surprised if the culture is completely different when you start compared to what they had told you. Speaking candidly, I genuinely thought the company was a cult when I started since everyone was so happy but as time went on, it changed and it became borderline toxic in terms of work stress and inability to GSD. Upper leadership is also indifferent, you are a number and your job is expendable; they may promise you the moon but do not be surprised when they give you a rock and say its from the moon. Depending on which brand you are apart of, your experiences with Sr. leadership could be positive; but I had not met a single Diligent employee that spoke favourably about anyone from the executive team past "they like to party". If you are interviewing here, do not be surprised if they cut headcount or if your role suddenly becomes unavailable. Despite being out of the company for 3 months at this point, my former colleagues still tell me how terrible the stress has been if your brand is not doing well; from quota reductions to missing commission payments to something as simple as working with HR, certain brands are struggling.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed a number of aspects of working at Diligent, including our incredible people, abundance of opportunities for learning, competitive compensation packages, and the opportunity to work across market-leading brands. We appreciate your comments and will take them onboard as opportunities to improve moving forward. Certainly, as we have grown and evolved our business, including through our recent strategic acquisitions, we have had to make changes in order to drive the greatest possible impact for our clients. Whenever those changes have resulted in team members transitioning out of Diligent, we have made every effort to fully support them in their next steps. Regarding your other comments, our senior leaders strive to set their teams up for success, and to ensure each employee has the tools and training, as well as mentorship and support, to fully excel. Our leaders are also committed to listening to the feedback of all our team members and regularly host team meetings and check-ins to hear any questions, thoughts, and reactions as Diligent moves forward. Their doors are always open. We are sorry to hear that it sounds like there is more we could have done for you, but we do hope that you shared your concerns with your manager or with HR while you were here. Thank you for your contributions to Diligent, and we wish you luck with your next opportunity. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

Decent pay, unlimited PTO and good benefits

Cons

Leadership will tell you want you want to hear to keep you focused on being a BDR instead of helping you get promoted. Majority of AE type roles are not posted internally and do a ton of external hiring instead of promotions.
