Pros

~Resources are provided/expenses are approved when asked ~Have a grip on the niche sector in working with publicly traded executive level staff ~Podcast brings some awareness to corporate governance ~Have acquired or tried to acquire every provider in the niche space ~Hard working product team ~Some contributors actually are intelligent, aware, and logical

Cons

~Hypocritical executives and middle management, do as I say not as I do ~Lots of sales leaders straight out make themselves "too busy" or just don't know how to coach, mentor, and develop sales contributors ~No process, rhyme or reason to many parts of the business, everyone is always reinventing the wheel ~Some sales and customer success leaders take credit for other's ideas ~Huge racial disparity, they have ERGs but it's cannon fodder - they really don't care to support racial diversity, maybe just gender diversity since they have many women they've put in roles ~Sales strategy is worst seen, many successful reps just lone wolf it ~The customer success team is passive-aggressive and will throw folks under the bus to keep their status ~There is better software, many customers still using on-premise solutions, Diligent doesn't know how to convince them otherwise ~Leadership just blames the people below them and like to fire people not realizing it's them that are awful ~CEO is a glorified M&A advisor and scorekeeper who flaunts and relies on his Ivy League background....any excel money aka analyst from any big investment bank can easily do the job he's doing ~Besides being a good old boy, not sure how the CRO still has his job as he's also the least impressive CRO to date ~Company had similar growth issues when they were public, but since they are private only Insight Partners can reign them in or not ~Too many old white guys at this company mixed in with a few New York woke people who work for said old white guys who just lie about innovation, diversity, or any progress ~They rely on acquisitions to move revenue upstream

Thank you for sharing, and we’re sorry to read your feedback. This is certainly not the Diligent that we know and hear about in our conversations with our colleagues and customers around the world. We have always believed that people and our teams are our greatest asset, and we are fully committed to fostering their development and creating truly rewarding, engaging career paths. That includes for our collaborative and talented customer success and sales teams, who each and every day drive our outstanding reputation with customers and have been the engine for our significant organic growth in the past few years. We’re also really proud of the great progress we’ve made on our strategy that has driven our company to new heights and has made us the world’s largest SaaS company in the GRC space. We’re confident we’re on the right path for future growth, having invested in our product platform, onboarded many terrific team members, and expanded beyond governance into complementary categories by joining forces with other market leaders. Importantly, on the topic of diversity, equity, and inclusion, I can’t stress how much of a focus this is at all levels of our organization to achieve measurable progress – both internally, as well as in the boardrooms of the companies we serve. Within Diligent, we established a global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Intersectionality (DEII) task force to serve as the voice of our employees, helping to ensure that the ideas and initiatives that we push forward represent the diverse perspectives and needs of our team. In addition, Diligent created and filled a new leadership position of Vice President of Talent and DEI&I to ensure that our talent programs reflect and prioritize DEI&I and to accelerate our diversity initiatives. We know how much work we have to do on this front, but empowering organizations to be better is at the heart of our mission, and we are intensely focused on driving tangible results through action. We never want any colleague to feel this way about our company. In the future, please don’t hesitate to share your feedback at HRconfidential@diligent.com so we can address your concerns directly. Thanks again for your post. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Cons

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback about your experience. We truly appreciate you recognizing the strengths of our product and the talent across our team, and we’re glad to hear the space feels interesting and compelling. We also recognize that as a company focused on governance, risk and compliance, that it’s critical to hold ourselves to the same high standards internally. Through our monthly pulse surveys, we listen to our team, learn and actively work to strengthen any areas of feedback from alignment to transparency, or accountability across our leadership teams. In fact, one of our OKRs is focused solely on ensuring we have an empowered and accountable team, which we rally around as an organization. We appreciate other sources of feedback like yours, as it is an important part of that effort. Our People team is committed to supporting an elevated employee experience and continuously improving how we listen, respond, and evolve.
