Pros

- The people - Nice office - Benefits - Work from home days

Cons

- Pay is in the low end - Overtime almost every week - Argument for overtime is "work week is 35 hours, so that's 5 hours per week you should be willing to give as overtime" - Guilting employees/mentioning in reviews if they don't do as much overtime as others - Micromanagement - Time logged is down to the minute, bathroom breaks are not included in work hours - There's way too much focus on perception, example: warnings without evidence other than perception - Deadlines are promised to customers without thinking of QA time, meaning lots of overtime on Friday nights and weekends for features promised for Monday morning

Diff Agency Response

Thank you for your review! We are sorry to hear that you didn’t have the positive experience that we want everyone at diff to have. We have been benchmarking the salary of each role in the company against the market. We don’t hesitate to adjust salaries if the market changes. We currently review every employee's salary every 6 months. Our developers and QA analysts usually work between 33 hours worth of work each week, while their salary is based on a standard 40-hour workweek. We believe in work-life balance, which is why we don’t request everyone to fulfill their 40-hour workweek. Like with most companies, there are moments in the year that are busier than others and our team is always happy to step up to help. We apologize if you received a warning that felt unfair. We don’t use warnings often as we believe people come to work with the intention of doing their best. So, when there are moments in which an employee isn’t doing as well, we ask how we can support them better. We are continually finding ways to improve our processes which is why we now have a Coach that is working with Front-End and QA on improvements. QA Analysts are now integrated into the development teams to promote continuous communication. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us to discuss this further - you can contact your former team lead, or reach out to our HR team.

Pros

Worked with great people, and nice company perks were offered.

Cons

Teams across the company are very siloed, and management is disorganized. Communication is broken - often found out about company changes in weird, roundabout ways. Because of lack of communication, I felt my role and contributions were undervalued.
