Pros

- Great wellness benefits - Open-minded and curious colleagues

Cons

- CTO (former CEO) Manish is blinded by his ego and insecurities. Micromanages tasks and makes them less user-friendly and doesn't trust you to make any decisions. His responses to conflict show his immaturity - he's stubborn, wants to make himself look bigger or smarter, blames others, but at the same time is too timid to face confrontation head-on. Incompetent, toxic leader who is only concerned about his image on social media. - Career progress often feels out of reach. Select employees are promoted but are expected to keep quiet and execute Manish's vision. Don't be fooled by the "rocketship" culture. - Fresh grads and juniors are taken advantage of. The company is bent on cutting expenses and reducing to the cheapest labor possible. Exploits income disparities by hiring a majority Indian junior team, and even failed to support colleagues dealing with COVID stresses in India. - Employees throughout the company feel burnt out and are told to believe that it's their fault. This is extraordinarily difficult to work around if you actually enjoy what you do.

Pros

Great people. Excellent new business opportunities and AI product direction. New leadership are experienced and deeply connected in silicon valley. Engineers are pushed to produce but given autonomy and interesting work.

Cons

Management moves very rapid with good results but also some mistakes. Top leaders most certainly know what they are about but for employees the direction is sometimes a surprise because not adequately written and communicated. It is hard for us on the team to feel energy and enthusiasm if not better included.

Pros

- Dgraph has a great product. It is the #1 open-source GraphDB on GitHub, and many fortune 500 companies use it. I speak with prospects and customers from time to time, and it's rare to work for a company that your customers thank you for building such a fantastic product. - Dgraph has a very talented team. It has a tight culture where everyone deeply believes in the mission. No matter which team you reach out, they're all in such high caliber and have tons of knowledge that you can learn from. - Dgraph gave me a lot of opportunities that I never had before in my previous role. Because I joined an early-stage startup, you have opportunities to take on projects that directly impact the growth of the business. It's a very cool experience when you see the projects/initiatives you implemented to make an impact.

Cons

Dgraph is built with a distributed team. We have team members all over the globe. It can be a challenge to coordinate and work with time from different timezones.
