Pros

It was good up until a few months ago

Cons

The new vp ruined the work place culture. Expecting everyone to come more in the office regardless of where we live. Many people have to travel 3 hours for a one way commute , so that's 6 hours of commuting a day. Upper management does not care in the slightest. Everyone requested 1 day in the office a month as that makes more sense however management is looking to increase the days in office even more in march. They do not listen or respect feedback. Everyone is 10 times more efficient working at home than in office. Especially when this job is mainly done on the phone %100 percent of the time. Everyone will start to leave if they push us for more days in office as it is.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and concerns. We appreciate your feedback and your input is valuable in our ongoing efforts to maintain a positive work environment and culture for all employees. We recognize that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach to flexible hybrid work but Definity is a culture focused on connection, collaboration and coaching so in office/in person time with one another is important.  Expectations to spend time in person with our colleagues have been communicated for the past two years and it is part of our responsibility to build strong connections and learn from each other.  We do read each one of the survey comments from employees and apply the feedback in a way that balances the needs of the business, different teams and our employees for productivity, flexibility and collaboration. We do hear your concerns and have shared your feedback with the relevant senior leadership teams. We’re here to help and encourage you reach out to your leader and/or HR (hrsharedservices@definity.com) so we can gather more details about your situation and concerns to support you. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Pros

Here's something fun: Petline hasn't launched yet but they've already made me a better pet-parent. Now certainly, "become a better pet-parent" wasn't one of my goals when I accepted the role, but I've been surprised a few times by my personal growth since I joined the team. On career goals I'll say this: to the credit of the management team at Petline, they've recognized talents and areas I where I thrive before I did. I've been given opportunities that I didn't expect and for which I am deeply grateful. Back to pet-parenting, Petline is a startup and every person at this company is heavily committed to our mission and goals. Just working alongside like-minded folks has made me consider who I am as a pet-parent. I know my pets better than I did before and I know they are happier for it. Petline won't always be a startup, but I'm confident that as we move forward it will be with integrity and the intention to foster an environment where individual strengths are recognized, and weaknesses are supported.

Cons

Petline is a startup and anyone familiar with the concept should know that it takes hard work, a lot of brainpower, and constant flexibility. It can be hard to accept and frustrating when business decisions seem to flow and change like water, but it's rewarding. It might not be for right for everyone, but when it's right, it's right.
