Pros

Databricks has an exciting product, great vision and tech vision. Many people still top notch.

Cons

The leadership is primarily coming in heavy from SFDC and they only care about dashboards, metrics and managing up. There is an inherent bias and the company is almost toxically positive so its maintained. VPs who don't provide value except to crack the whip, Directors who are not technical enough to understand the value prop and just want "prospecting and new use cases" and lastly but most important- only 50% are even coming close to hitting their numbers. The company does well by cranking quotas up so they dont' have to pay people and they are still sitting pretty overall at 50% YOY growth.

Pros

Great teams made up of smart, motivated people. Databricks is an exciting place to work because it is part of the growing data and AI tools space. The benefits and income are also good overall.

Cons

Databricks no longer feels like a startup. There are now multiple layers of bureaucracy, and leadership can feel territorial rather than collaborative. Over time, it can seem like business growth and internal politics have become stronger drivers than innovation or employee experience. For long-tenured employees, it may become harder to stay excited or feel challenged. Other companies may offer a more energizing environment.
