Pros
AMRI pay rate may seemingly look at the higher end of the leading market but if normalized against comparative locations elsewhere in the US, your income would actually be significantly smaller than you think.
Cons
Albany and Rensselaer locations are horrible: access to downtown is through Dunn Memorial Bridge which is congested on a daily basis. Once there was an accident on the bridge and ppl got stranded with absolutely nowhere to go for hours. About the company, even though I believe there exist good groups in bad companies and vice versa, but AMRI is terrible place to be, even if you are lucky enough to work with nice team members. The company is loosing its personnel in astronomical rates, and is troubled bringing in, and most importantly, keeping talent ppl. Upper management doesn't trust nor support it ppl, especially when such supports are needed the most, you may very well expect the company throw your under the bus instead of helping you overcome temporary situations. The production plant doesn't really operate, or even look like a pharmaceutical drug manufacturing site, rather an old and dingy petrochemical plant. Offices, research and analysis labs don't look any better. Housing is expensive and the city is not conveniently connected to the rest of the country, and world by its airport. All in all, I consider it a huge mistake of ever joining the company.
