Pros
Corning has continually reinvented itself over the past 160 years and that history of innovation continues today with a strong commitment to investing in new technology and growing primarily through organic means. This focus on growing organically creates lots of opportunities for people to be engaged in very interesting and exciting projects that expand the way that glass and ceramics are used in various applications. The company also invests in people for the long term and although it may take more time than at other companies the best people get great opportunities to grow.
Cons
Some people may be turned off by the conservative culture, somewhat slow decision making, and need to get inputs from lots of stakeholders but if you like a collaborator consensus driven culture then this is actually a positive. The fact that in order to grow your career you must spend time at the HQ in the small town of Corning, NY can also be very hard for people who prefer larg cities.
