Pros

Good cafeteria with edible food. Location next to the tollway.

Cons

It's hilarious to see the reviews on Glassdoor that are so obviously posted by HR and NOT by an actual employee giving a legitimate review. Our HR and Executive team are desperate to keep Conifer's rating above a 2.0 and, if you watch over time, you'll see that they're having a seriously hard time keeping it up. I love the recent one by a "current employee" who has been working for Conifer for "10 years." LOL. Conifer has only been an independent company for 6-7 years, depending on how you count it. Laughable!! Take a look at how many anonymous "current employees" there are who just LOVE their job and who feel that the only cons are that the company is growing so fast or that they earn SO much money. Just hilarious. What a joke! Go ahead and ignore all of the negative reviews, tell yourself that it's just a few sour grapes. I dare you to. Then you can buy into their sales pitch and come and work here. You can allow yourself to get suckered in like hundreds do every month, and you'll join the thousands of us who are earning a paycheck while dreaming of the day that we can jump ship. Question: what percentage of employees at any given company do you think are putting their resumes out to try to get away from their current employer? At Conifer, it's well over half, based on the myriad people who talk constantly about how they're trying to leave. The Conifer slave ship is crazy, with ZERO concern or appreciation for the slaves, I mean employees. The degree to which management will stab one another - and their direct reports - in the back is just mind-blowing. I'm literally thinking about finding a way to get fired and go on unemployment. I'd rather earn half of what I'm currently earning than put up with this abuse for another year. But, again, if you allow yourself to believe the bait & switch sales pitch, to take a look at the pretty building and say, "wow, sooo nice," and ignore all of the warnings, then you deserve the surprise that most certainly will be coming your way, maybe about 2 or 3 weeks into your time here.

Pros

This was the best job I ever had. I am very sad that my position was eliminated. Great work-life balance with a fully remote environment. I had extremely supportive teammates who were willing to answer questions and share knowledge. I love the repetitive, detail-oriented work that allowed me to become efficient and confident in my role. I had great opportunities to specialize in Charge Review while working independently. I had minimal verbal interaction with and a clear sense of purpose by helping prevent missed hospital revenue.

Cons

For some, career growth at this organization and advancement opportunities can be limited depending on the client and department. If you seek consistent learning, the work could’ve become repetitive, which may not appeal to everyone. Job stability for all positions may be affected by client contracts and outsourcing decisions as my position has been eliminated. Cross-training opportunities into other Revenue Cycle areas may be limited.

Pros

Remote Flex hours Smart staff

Cons

Lots of knowledge but limited to people who have been there for years and isnt shared or documented for the benefit of others or for the company. This causes massive overlaps, confusion and rework. Integrations are unorganized, rushed, and inevitably fail. Toxic leadership and culture are also present with very little actual support and growth offered. Accountability is lacking for many in leadership roles and staff suffers the consequences. Losing long-time, tenured staff is ongoing for these reasons. Top leaders are out of touch with staff and actual needs. Low pay and minimal annual increases...less than 2% many times. Benefit package is expensive and not competitive with the market. Recruiting is nonexistent and impossible to get through unless you know someone.
