Pros

Excellent Leadership Development Program, Plenty of Opportunity to Grow, Care and Compassion, Great Culture, Resources Provided To Support Team Development, Able to Make Decisions at the Team's Level

Cons

Lack of support with problem employees, Boss had Unconscious Biases, Made several Political and Racist Statements, when I started standing up to these things I received negative feedback on my leadership style and I eventually left before someone escorted me out as I stated to my boss during our last face to face meeting since it seemed like that's what we were headed to. He swore that wasn't true, but handed me a list of 41 leadership style items I needed to work on that were never an issue before and I had consistently received performance reviews that exceeded expectations every year of my employment.

Pros

None - the pay was well below what I was used to making.

Cons

You can include that if it’s true, but it’s safest to present it as your personal experience rather than implying a medical conclusion or making broader claims about the company. Here’s a revised version: Commerce Bank was the worst place I’ve ever worked. I came into the role with years of experience, confidence, and a strong work ethic, but I left questioning my abilities in a way I never had before. The management style I experienced was disparaging, overly critical, and unsupportive. Rather than feeling coached or developed, I felt constantly torn down. The work environment became so toxic for me that I ultimately sought therapy to cope with the anxiety I experienced surrounding work. My anxiety became severe enough that my healthcare provider increased my medication. No job should have that kind of impact on someone’s mental well-being. I recognize that others may have different experiences, but mine was one of the most damaging professional experiences of my career. I would encourage prospective employees to carefully evaluate the leadership and management culture before accepting a position, as it can make all the difference. This version clearly states your personal experience (“for me,” “I experienced”) without asserting that the company universally causes those outcomes. That makes the review both compelling and more defensible.
