Pros

I still believe in our product.

Cons

I've been with Collibra for a while, and man, have things changed. It used to be the kind of place you'd brag about working at - great vibes, great people, and the freedom to work in a way that suited you. But that's all in the rearview mirror now. First off, the whole "back to the office" thing has turned into a bit of a mess. Doesn't matter if working from home was your jam and worked out fine - if you live in certain areas, you're expected to commute back, no ifs or buts. And remember when our CEO was all "I'll never force you come back to the office if you don't want to"? Yeah, so much for that. Trying to get an exception has become a joke; it seems like management just enjoys saying "no" for the heck of it. Then there's our new SVP People, trying so hard to make a splash but honestly, just causing the ship to sink. It feels like they care more about their personal brand than, you know, actual people. The atmosphere's turned toxic - it's like we're just numbers on a spreadsheet now, not humans. Oh, and about rewards for hard work? Forget about it. No raises, bonuses are shrinking, and guess how they broke the news? The SVP People, who is so eager to go back to the office, decided to work from home to drop that bombshell. Talk about avoiding the fallout. If this doesn’t show the inexperience, I don’t know what is. Leadership roles seem to be handed out like candy at a parade, but not based on what you know or how hard you've worked. It's all about who you know now, which just isn't right. And let's talk about the layoffs. Round after round, it's been nothing short of a nightmare. The only "round" that hasn't happened but absolutely should, is at the top. Seems like those making the questionable calls are the only ones safe from the chopping block. Remember when "open, direct, and kind" or "one Collibra" were things we actually lived by? Feels like ages ago. Now, those values seem like they're just empty words, with none of the action to back them up. It's a bummer to say, but the company we loved is pretty much gone. It's turned into just another company that's lost sight of what made it special. Keeping my fingers crossed that things will get better before the last of the great team members decide to leave.

Pros

Smart, collaborative people focused on solving real customer problems in the AI era. Leadership hasn't shied away from the moment, they've leaned in with AI enablement and given employees access to the tools needed to stay relevant. The work is demanding, but Collibra is making the right moves to stay ahead of the market and evolve alongside its customers.

Cons

Like any fast-growing company, things move quickly and priorities can shift. While I can appreciate the shifts are to stay ahead or evolve with the market, somedays, it can be alot.

Pros

Good pay, decent benefits, remote/hybrid work

Cons

The compensation and benefits are competitive, but in my experience they came at the cost of employee wellbeing, psychological safety, and ethical leadership. This was one of the most toxic workplace cultures I have experienced. Leadership frequently lacked transparency, accountability, and empathy. Employees who raised concerns about culture, discrimination, management behavior, or workplace fairness were often dismissed, blamed, or made to feel the issue was theirs to solve rather than something leadership needed to address. I witnessed and experienced behavior that I believe reflected racism, sexism, ageism, favoritism, and ongoing gaslighting from leadership. Trust in HR and “anonymous” feedback processes was extremely low, as many employees did not feel safe speaking honestly without fear of retaliation or being discussed openly afterward. The environment was highly hierarchical, heavily micromanaged, and emotionally exhausting. The stress and anxiety from working here had a significant impact on my mental health and overall wellbeing. While the compensation may initially seem appealing, I would strongly encourage prospective employees to carefully evaluate whether the company’s culture and ethical standards align with the type of workplace they want long term, particularly employees from underrepresented backgrounds.
