Pros

Cogent has fair benefits, they pay timely and you have work-life balance from getting work done in-office and no approved overtime. People are great.

Cons

The 5-day in-office culture is strict so you have to rely a lot on your direct manager to approve exceptional circumstances, or just use your PTO. Top-down leadership is centralizing; there's no wiggle room to innovation. They can implement goals that are completely unrealistic.

Pros

Chill manager, decent base pay, cool work location

Cons

The work is highly monotonous, repetitive, and mentally draining. The expectations feel unrealistic, especially given the lack of effective tools, training, and meaningful support to help employees reach quota. The environment feels less like a career path and more like a high-pressure survival job. Success appears heavily dependent on having an established book of business built over many years, which puts newer employees at a major disadvantage. The monthly quota pressure creates constant job insecurity, which is exhausting and unhealthy. Having your job feel at risk every single month makes the culture feel punitive rather than motivating.
