      Pros

      By far the biggest pro was the job offer tied to successful completion of the apprenticeship. In addition to that, I always felt that the entire team (from those directly responsible for me to those with whom I had no formal organizational relationship) were genuinely invested my success. There was a debugging slack channel where I never had to wait more than a minute for a response.

      Cons

      A lot of the learning is done via reading (not everyone learns well this way), however my mentor made himself abundantly available to review things I was unable to grasp on my own.

      Pros

      I've worked for many companies both big and small. Definitely the most "employee friendly" company for whom I have worked. Many companies talk values. Codence lives them. The environment is very positive and supportive. The flex time policy allows you to easily work around potential midday appointments or kid events. They are very interested in professional development. Probably the best place I've worked.

      Cons

      While they have a long history of being in business, in many ways they are still a start up. Sometimes policies and procedures are in place and sometimes they need to be built or refined. That won't be for everyone. Also 100% remote (for the most part) which also presents some challenges sometimes, but nothing that every company isn't going through in some ways themselves.
