Pros

The partners, directors and HR at the time of my hire in 2016 did a great job of trying to maintain a positive work environment that provided it's employees with after work parties, game nights and events.

Cons

Most, if not all of those employees left because of differences with CEO or being fired because of rash, emotionally driven decision making by CEO. He consistently yells at, verbally belittles and tears down his staff. He demands more than 40 hours a week to meet deadlines with no compensation. He will regularly send emails at night well after hours demanding explanations for communications he has already received but forgotten or lost. The CEO does not appreciate his staff or provide many of them proper pay and benefits. Employees receive 10 PTO/sick days per year and those are closely watched by accounting. Favoritism is also largely in play at Code Authority. Those that spend time after hours drinking or socializing with the clients and upper management will seemingly have a pass when they choose to not fulfill their job requirements repeatedly. While those that have carried the company for years are rarely recognized and in many instances have left or will be leaving.

Pros

A few years back I embarked upon an incredible journey. After 16 years in the field of education I decided it was time for a change. I was excited about the challenges and the opportunities a career away from the classroom would offer. My journey started with Code Authority. I am forever grateful it did. Code Authority provides a work environment that celebrates team work and initiative. One can expect that while in CA’s employ, that employee will be well compensated for hard work delivered, both monetarily and with professional recognition and praise, both privately and publicly amongst peers. The room for growth and advancement is incredible. One is only held back by their own lack of ambition. It is a vastly mobile firm where one can achieve professional elevation to the highest titles. Code Authority offers no dead end placements. Ambitious entry level employees will appreciate the opportunities they will discover.

Cons

The CEO of the firm is very family oriented and has deep roots in community and believes strongly in this “family” feel to be a large part of Code Authorities culture. This is a good thing. For those who have integrity, it is powerful. Often times those lacking in performance and positivity are given chance upon chance to correct their actions, largely due to the above values mentioned that the CEO possesses. This can lead to performance issues and team friction.
