Pros

Advisors and partners really try to get interns involved and want to teach them about financial advising. The advisors are really friendly.

Cons

Company is very unorganized. If you don't ask for work, you wont get any. Sometimes the work gets very repetitive.

We have acknowledged that the internship program needs more structure. Moving forward, we have created a program to engage our interns more. The work and mentoring provided is heavily influenced by the business needs. At times, work may seem repetitive, but it is a true exposure to the actual business. Just like in any business, there might be times that may be busier and times when the business might taper off a bit. While we are going to make more of an effort to have more planned activities for our interns, asking for work shows a desire to be productive and an initiative we hope to foster in our interns. We also want to make sure that our interns have the chance to develop themselves, as if they were in a career role. This might include reading publications related to the business, working on a marketing campaign, or doing a presentation on something related to small business growth. Even though our business has been long standing, we are still a small business. Our organization and structure is always developing and growing. We always appreciate feedback to help our business function more fluidly.

Pros

The company has been around 20 years with a well respected reputation. Strategic partners and vendors have the highest accolades. Great culture and respect in the work environment. Collaboration with management on planning and vision.

Cons

Smaller firm experiencing big growth is always challenging - but exciting.

Pros

There are not a lot of pros to working at this company. It is in a good location in downtown SF.

Cons

They hire people with no intention of paying them until they have their own clients. This can take months, and you can only begin working here after passing the series 65 securities exam. Even then, it would take years to build up enough clients to make a decent living. Even though you are unpaid, you are expected to work 8-5 Monday through Friday, while researching potential leads by night. No leads are provided, merely some phone numbers to cold call. The business model revolves around getting people to work for no pay for a while, having those people get burned out and quit, passing on their leads essentially for free. They have cheap, terrible CRM software. The atmosphere at this place is so Republican it's toxic, with "Libtard" being a common term used by the partners to describe anyone remotely liberal.
