Pros

Working in a family culture organization makes me feel like I truly belong, with strong personal connections that boost my morale and job satisfaction. I appreciate the open communication and collaboration, knowing I’m part of a supportive environment where my contributions are valued. It’s empowering to have a voice in decision-making and feel included in shaping the organization's direction.

Cons

In a family culture organization, I sometimes feel like the personal relationships can blur the lines between work and friendship, which can make it difficult to address conflicts or provide honest feedback. Decision-making can be slower, as the focus on consensus and inclusion means it takes longer to move forward on important issues. There’s also the potential for favoritism, where certain employees may receive preferential treatment due to close relationships. Finally, the expectation of being "always available" can sometimes make it hard to maintain clear boundaries between work and personal life.

Pros

Great multicultural environment, respectful and very friendly staff. The organization have the potential to make a real difference. DC BILINGUAL charter school does not apply to this review because they do actually have a separate salary scale. If you love to volunteering, community service and have limited financial responsibilities then this is a decent organization for you. Great place to practice Spanish. It is a great place to utilize problem solving skills, spend some time but definitely MOVE ON to something else and self reflect.

Cons

No guidelines, structure, poor leadership mainly due to the lack of organizational charts. The organization have a huge staff turnover rate and do not expect for someone else to get hire. Pray for interns! My understanding is that they tend to hire part-time employees that end up working full time. They don't believe in hourly wages (how convenient) but you submit time sheets rated hourly which seems a bit unethical to me. What is even more frustrating several divisions consist in only One individual, a director?! Don't let the titles fool you.
