Pros

-On the large scale, cargill is huge and is able to provide a great deal of opportunities in many locations, in different business units, and the ability to move laterally/upward to multiple positions frequently -In terms of salaried professionals, Cargill takes care to hire on competent, personable people. The kind every company should have. -Pros when viewing the individual plant a coop project engineer working in CMNA (corn milling north america): very dynamic job that gives a GREAT variety of work. No two weeks are even close to being the same really for me.

Cons

-Not a chemical/mechanical engineer (if looking for engineering position) -Quality of work done varies greatly by department. Experience working with engineers has been excellent. When dealing with Cargill IT (20 min phone calls to India for simple password resets), HR (poor communication of benefits, relocation, etc), Safety (poorly composed, mandatory trainings), etc can be a huge pain.

Pros

Pay is good, especially on holidays! you get days off during the week and you work every other weekend

Cons

The schedule is hard, 12 hour days for 1 month then 12 hour nights then switch back. the environment is tough, the work load is heavy. not always the support you need to help you. favoritism, Management can be difficult, sink or swim type of culture, The testing is nearly impossible to get through. In the end you can do a great job in learning the job, if they don't want you, you will be replaced!
