Pros
Chep USA (a division of Brambles) offers great benefits. There is a terrific opportunity to learn new skills online through the Academy program to which all Bramble’s / Chep employees have access.
Cons
There is room to move if your supervisor works with you, BUT too many people are in Management+ roles who have no business supervising anyone. My supervisor follows a script 90% of the time, and when she doesn’t she is an absolute and utter moron. There is more double talk and sucking-up going on in the LVR department than one could imagine. Employees are constantly being “encouraged to think out of the box on problems that need to be addressed,” but no new or fresh ideas are welcomed. In actuality, anything off the departments status quo is ignored or frowned upon. And those advancements in your career… they are only coming if it makes the boss look good. Otherwise, keep your head down and do as you’re told, for 9 hours a day, with very little time for a break or lunch. The department is a disaster fiscally. They are spending money hand over fist to make collections with ZERO regard for the company mission or the bottom line. If an actuary ever really looks at the numbers, the whole program would implode. I’ll end with the Director (BT) who’s entire platform for any discussion is about how many corporate buzz words he can include in each sentence. He’s a smart go-getter, but the guy is so self-focused, that you can be assured that he isn’t ever going to hear anything his subordinates have to say, even at the cost of the company. Do yourself a favor and pass on this job.
