Some really nice people... if you find them. Friendly social culture amongst most employees .. if you get to know them.
Cons
- My entire team knew I was laid off before I was... Just think how awkward and cringy I felt when I was making "future plans" with colleagues while they knew I was being laid off due to restructuring... - Was walked to an office one day, told ByeBye EARLY MORNING and was not even allowed to go to my desk, not even to pick up my own cell phone. Walked out in shame in front of everyone who saw me come to work and disappear and forced to come after hours to get my things from my desk (which is after 8pm at this company because they make you work overtime)... - Burnout. - Lack of direction from management. - Treated like a code monkey when needed, thrown under the boss by manager when heated. - No help whatsoever and proper training: Horizontal design of company makes you forced to interact with customers and other teams directly instead of via chain of management. - Ignored when clueless, micromanaged when your opinion is not theirs. - Meetings waste a lot of your day, but somehow don't factor into your deliverable capacity. - Gender Inequality vs women yes. But this has also caused SOME women (especially in managerial role) to put themselves first instead of their team and throw you under the bus to make a name for themselves. - Who even uses Clojure anymore? All of your knowledge and expertise in this company will NOT give you any marketable skills when you leave it ... especially when you realize how underpaid and overworked you are. - Company salesmen overpromise. And developers are expected to keep up with growing demand with a team that keeps shrinking from laying off, turn over and people just giving up and leaving. - Bonuses promised were never honored. - You could sell girl scout cookies on the streets and feel less taken advantage of salary-wise. - Company more than willing to take shortcuts for short term funding vs longterm because they're already behind on all their projects.
