Interview
HRs are very irresponsible and happy to waste candidates' time. I applied for the position few weeks, received a confirmation from HR for moving forward. Scheduled and confirmed 1st call with her, I adjusted my working day to attend the call. I received 1 hr prior to call saying her calendar is overlapping. I understood that it happens sometimes, I rescheduled for next week, waited for 30 mins, she never called. I sent her an email if is there any update, she said she was unable to call on my number, which is entirely unbelievable that I would not been reachable, if so she should have sent me an email right away if she could not give me a call. Please be professional enough to inform a candidate that you are no longer interested, stop scheduling fake calls.
They didn't really sell me on the job. Also didn't go into much detail on what I'd really be doing day to day. Was asked a bunch of junior dev questions when I thought I didn't apply for a programming job. Lots of poor non-structured technical questions not relevant to the position. That was the end of that.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CENX (Ottawa, ON) in Jan 2016
Interview
Call from HR about background, next week followed by 2 hour interview with devs and manager. Pretty straight forward resume scan and couple of programming problems followed by code explanation of clojure code.
