Pros
Really good Products and technology There are some good people within the BU’s who have been around a while If you are coming in from outside, CA will often pay well to get you on board The perks (car, pension, on-site gym, subsidised canteen) are better than some companies Facilities in the UK are very good with lovely grounds and impressive Tudor castle complete with moat at your disposal - this does impress clients and prospects.
Cons
This applies to the UK, I don't know about other locations: Senior management foster a cliquey 'who you know' culture. This creates a real divide within the organisation resulting in petty and unnecessary in-fighting. If your face doesn't fit, it doesn't matter how well you do by objective measures, you will not get on. Maybe due to this dual class system, a large number of employees are disgruntled. Local management change every few years, but all seem to be cut from the same cloth so I don't see grass roots problems being addressed any time soon.
