Pros

Free junk food There are still some really smart, fun, and hardworking people here - but for how long?

Cons

The CTO is a uniquely toxic individual. When he joined the company, he immediately alienated practically everyone on the technology side of the company through antagonist micro-management and a mystifying lack of people skills. Multiple (more than 5) people have quit directly because of his behavior. Be prepared to be lied to, gaslit, told you don’t know what you are talking about (and when it turns out you DID know what you were talking about, there will be no acknowledgement). He sees no problem with singling out and belittling people in large meetings. Incredible amounts of time and energy are spent cleaning up the totally unnecessary drama he causes. The fact that this has been allowed to continue for so long tells you all you need to know about the values at the top. The rest of senior management is inconsistent and confused. Answers to important questions (Can I work remotely? What project will I be working on next week?) will change suddenly and without warning, usually due to bad planning and disorganization. Communication is terrible - emails and slack messages are ignored until something catches on fire. Performance reviews for lead staff last year were 5 - 6 sentences, done in a way that made it clear they were an afterthought. The office is huge, yet everyone is crowded into one side while the other sits largely empty. Working conditions are loud and interruptions are frequent and management seems to think this is a feature, not a bug. The job market right now is hot. If you can get a job here, you can get a job 20 other places that pay the same and won’t make you miserable.

Pros

ByteCubed is a great place to work because of the culture. There is a real sense of team work and appreciation for innovation and creativity. ByteCubed is a fairly new company but continues to see steady growth and success each and every day. The non traditional approach trickles down to every person on the team and allows you the space to be creative in your work. ByteCubed does not have a traditional hierarchy either which also contributes to more successful collaboration and team work among the employees. ByteCubed also goes over and beyond to provide great benefits and fun working environment for employees.

Cons

There really aren't any major cons to working at ByteCubed. Since the company is fairly new, there were a few growing pains when getting started. However, the leadership goes out of their way to solve any issues an employee might be having and as soon as possible.
