Pros

Bulbs.com is the only sales position I have ever worked that does not require more than a 40 hour work week. Your leads are generated for you by commercial customers placing orders on the site. There is no cold-calling (unless you want to) and all the leads are warm when you get them. Imagine a sales call where your customers are expecting to hear from you?! The initial training is catered to your learning strengths and is very hands-on. They set you up with practice calls and a lot of product training before having to call into your territory. In addition, all of the venders they get lighting from come in on a quarterly basis to update the team on new lines and answer questions. Help is always given to those who seek it. These folks truly go above and beyond to show their employees appreciation. During the holidays, they raffle off gifts (Scratch ticket baskets, Yeti ramblers, TVs, Keurigs, just to name a few). They do catered lunches multiple times a year and are very flexible to accommodate almost anyone's schedule. As long as you work hard and do the things expected of you, you cannot fail to succeed in this position.

Cons

The only reason I left was because there wasn't career advancement in the sales department.

Pros

I have met some of the nicest people working here, and the company culture is really great. Relaxed environment, modern office setting, and open cubicles encourage collaboration between staff members. Depending on what "half" of the office you're in (Sales or Marketing), you can collaborate with fellow staff on music Fridays to create a Spotify mix to listen to as the day ensures. I've definitely expanded my music appreciation due to this! Also, there is a neat park across the street that a majority of staff take advantage of during lunch hours.

Cons

It was always extremely cold in the office, which I believe is a flaw that cannot be fixed due to a thermostat issue. Also, there is no reception area, so whoever is closest to the door (and that may be you) will have to address anyone who mistakenly walks into the office wanting to buy lightbulbs, etc. Lastly, the company is fairly small, so there might not be much room to grow in your designated field if you're a newcomer/intern.
