Pros
I was with a company acquired by Building Engines in May 2019. The executive team at Building Engines have been incredibly invested in making the transition as successful as possible. It has been a lot of work, but it's also been a really positive experience and I have learned so much as we combined companies. The benefit package at Building Engines is really great for employees - the unlimited vacation time is a real thing and the health insurance is robust and affordable. We also have a lot of free food every week - I thought our old company liked snacks, but Building Engines LOVES snacks and coffee and drinks. Everyone is working really hard and these little things make it a lot more enjoyable. The acquisition was a little nerve-wracking and no one was sure they would like working for Building Engines, but they have kept all their promises to the staff and continue to be transparent.
Cons
The company has gone through several growth spurts, including two acquisitions so far. There have been mistakes and bumps along the way, but the executive team has been really committed to learning from the mistakes and improving. Some of the company policies are not easily accessible in writing, which leads to confusion for new employees if they don't remember what was verbally told to them.
