Pros
Some nice perks and programs/events for employees. Very beautiful buildings with great amenities. I enjoyed working alongside my colleagues.
Cons
I decided to leave Brookfield after numerous discriminatory interactions with my supervisor. One of the VP/Creative Director's is very ego-driven, picking favorites, tons microaggressions, and withholding promotions/compensation discrimination. I didn't anticipate being so impacted by his toxic behavior, as he works solely remote. He's very immature and honestly has no business leading a team. He's made racist and inappropriate comments to myself and colleagues. He get's upset if he's not the center of the praise or shows signs of jealously when other colleagues get recognition. In over 10 years of working in my industry, I'd never had a work related panic attack until I worked here. Communication and expectations lack consistency. They need a project manager to aid in project delegation. There's been times that key decision makers in a project took leave back to back in the middle of a large project. Their lack of communication regarding the change in their schedules and project urgency, resulted in me being met with very passive aggressive interactions. Individual leader does not match the progressive nature that the overall company presents and is trying to achieve. I would not recommend joining the team if you're BIPOC. There should be more cohesion with the Design & Marketing teams and their processes. I would've had a pretty decent experience and wouldn't have left the company if he wasn't in his role. It's a pretty chill role, there's no reason to experience that much discrimination and toxicity. Fortunately, there are many other companies with more up-to-date practices and better leadership and pay compensation.
