Pros
The company is good if you would like to do a mundane task over and over for the next 20 years (although my department was more dynamic). It has good and stable benefits and if you fit inside the culture, they will treat you like one of their own.
Cons
It's very much like high school -- the captain of the football team dates the head cheerleader; people go to lunch together, and don't you even dare sit at their table; and the principal has his favorite students. Most people were hired when the market was booming, so the company didn't have much time to really evaluate them and be selective. So if you are a sophisticated college grad you will with with others who have no degree and will cast you out as if you're a snob.
