Pros

Worked 3+ years at the Toronto office. Limited pros: - Fellow associates/team - Convenient downtown location - Associate-led committees and initiatives - Benefits plan

Cons

Several which largely stem from management and C-suite, and is evidenced by the inability to retain top talent: 1. Management is not transparent about vision or direction of company, leaving associates worried about job security 2. A ridiculous amount of outsourcing even for business-critical roles 3. ZERO opportunity for advancement 4. Empty promises for promotions that never come 5. Self-serving middle-management 6. "Old Boy's Club" culture 7. HR that creates a feeling they cannot be trusted 8. Inconsistent support for professional development 9. Tremendously inadequate accommodation or support of working parents 10. Very vertical organizational structure that makes it difficult to effect any change 11. No consequences, but protection, for abusive leadership 12. Management comprised of "lifers" - employees who were promoted to management simply due to tenure and not leadership abilities 13. Poorly documented policies and procedures 14. Leadership is resistant to knowledge share possibly due to own concerns about job security

Pros

You can test tactics, fail, learn, and it's a great place to try new things.

Cons

The amount of admin work is insane. So much internal work that competes with marketing priorities.
